Senior IT Project Manager - €600 per dayA Leading Irish University is looking for a Senior IT project Manager to play a key role in an upcoming migration project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall planning, governance, coordination and delivery of the University’s programme to migrate staff and students from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365.

This role will initially be for a period of 18 months, but the scale and scope of the overall programme is such that there is a strong probability of extension well beyond this date as the contract can be extended for two additional 24-month slots.

Attendance for the role will be on a Hybrid basis, with the Senior IT project Manager required onsite on a 2-3 day per week basis at the University’s IT Department in Dublin.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Delivery Develop the end-to-end project plan while managing dependencies, milestones, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Leadership & Coordination
• Lead a blended team comprising internal staff, external contractors, and third-party vendors while ensuring that all project activities are aligned and delivered according to agreed objectives.
• Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders and engage with university leadership, IT teams, business representatives, and suppliers.
• Project Governance
• Establish/ maintain appropriate governance structures, poduce project documentation, reports status/updates and present progress reports/recommendations to senior management
• Risk & Issue Management
• Create and manage the project RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies) and Drive resolution of issues that could impact delivery.
• Testing & Quality Assurance
• Ensure testing plans are developed/executed.
• Oversee functional testing and confirm quality standards are met before sign-off and deployment.
• Documentation & Compliance
• Prepare and maintain all required project artefacts throughout the project lifecycle and Ensure appropriate approvals, controls, and project records are in place.
• Essential Candidate

Requirements

• 8-10+ years as a Senior IT Project Manager
• Third level Degree in Computer Science, IT or other area relevant to the role
• Data related qualification preferred, but relevant experience may suffice.
• Proven Microsoft 365 migration delivery experience
• Experience leading enterprise cloud transformation projects
• Strong stakeholder and governance management experience
• Experience managing vendors and mixed project teams
• PRINCE2 Practitioner and/or PMP certification
• Having previous Higher Education sector experience, preferably within Ireland would ve very advantageous
