Your Opportunity: We are searching for a proactive and skilled Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to enhance our FOLIO Operations team. The FOLIO Library Management System is an open-source, cloud-native platform dedicated to modern libraries. With its flexible architecture and microservices foundation, FOLIO is designed to empower institutions with scalable, multi-tenant deployments.

What You'll Do

• Support and maintain large-scale production systems across multiple products (FOLIO, LOCATE, MetaDB).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Develop and enhance automation processes using Java, Groovy, and scripting languages.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure using AWS services including CloudFormation, ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, Route53, CloudFront, Load Balancers, and Lambda.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows utilizing Jenkins and associated tools.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system availability and response to incidents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to effectively support customer environments.
• Assist with managing the API gateway and authentication layers using tools like Kong and Keycloak.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation for improving operational efficiency.

Your Team: As a member of the FOLIO Operations team, you will focus on ensuring the stability and continuous improvement of the FOLIO ecosystem and its related platforms. Working alongside engineering, product, and customer-facing teams, you will contribute to delivering dependable services to a global client base, including prominent institutions.

About You

• U.S. Citizenship required with a willingness to obtain security clearance.
• 2+ years of AWS operations experience, including skills in ECS, S3, PostgreSQL, Lambda, and automation development.
• Strong familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkins.
• Proficient in Java, Groovy, and scripting languages.
• Experience with microservices and serverless architecture principles.
• Willingness to work during standard business hours (8-5) in the US Eastern time zone.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, JSM).
• Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage and support multiple systems simultaneously.
• A proactive, customer-focused mindset with an emphasis on problem-solving.

The pay range for this role is USD $72,925.00 - USD $104,180.00 per year.

Our Hybrid Work Policy: We prioritize a balance between remote work and in-person collaboration. For roles not designated as onsite, team members living within a 30-mile radius of our office in Ipswich, MA, Birmingham, AL, or Contoocook, NH, are required to be on-site one day a week for team collaboration. Candidates outside this radius may work fully remotely.
