The opportunity

DHD is a Chicago full service B2B marketing agency with nearly 50 years of history and a new chapter of growth underway. We help mid-market companies win more business by combining sales strategy with creative, interactive, and media work that has served Chicago-area clients for decades.

We are growing and have an immediate need for a talented, well-connected business developer in the Chicago area. Growth in this role comes directly from your established network, your contacts, and your knowledge of how B2B and municipal buyers choose their marketing partners.

What you'll do

• Open doors and win new business in our core verticals: Industrial & Manufacturing, Transportation & Logistics, Public Sector and Senior Living.
• Target companies are mid-market, roughly $50M to $300M in revenue.
• Put your network to work.
• Your relationships with decision-makers in Chicagoland business and municipal circles are the engine of this role.
• Lead the sales conversation.
• We win by understanding a prospect's growth challenges and presenting a clear plan, with a full agency behind you to deliver it.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include qualifying opportunities, preparing and delivering proposals and presentations, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless transition from sales to account management.
• Work qualified inbound leads from our active digital campaigns, including booked calls with senior buyers.
• Help drive our RFP pipeline using your knowledge of public-sector procurement.

Who you are

• Demonstrated expertise in New Business Development and Lead Generation, with a track record of creating and converting high-quality Marketing opportunities.A proven networker and closer in the Chicago area with deep, active relationships among B2B and municipal decision-makers.
• Someone with strong skills in Business Planning, including market analysis, pipeline forecasting, and development of growth strategies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, networking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Experienced in Contract Negotiation, with the ability to structure agreements that balance client needs and organizational objectives.
• Experienced in at least one of the following industries: Industrial, Manufacturing, Home Services, Logistics, Senior Living, Tourism & Hospitality or Public-sector background is a must.
• Self-directed.
• Motivated by performance-based pay.
• You have earned commission before and want that upside again.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

• Competitive base salary, set according to your track record
• Uncapped commission on first-year contract revenue from business you originate
