Operations and Team Manager

We are seeking a responsible, friendly, and dependable leader to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced people leader who is comfortable balancing day-to-day retail operations with thoughtful staff support and excellent customer service. The role includes hours working on the floor with staff, in an office and meeting with fellow store leadership.

Position Details

• Schedule: Four days per week, 32 hours to start (set schedule)
• Availability: Evenings and Saturdays are required
• Compensation: $30 hour
• Opportunity for Growth: Additional hours may be available following a successful three-month trial period

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support retail staff during scheduled shifts
• Foster a collaborative, respectful, and accountable workplace culture
• Provide coaching, feedback, and guidance to team members
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and staff development as needed
• Address staffing concerns and navigate interpersonal challenges with professionalism and compassion
• Ensure excellent customer service and help customers find products and resources that meet their needs
• Answer questions about sexuality products with confidence, sensitivity, and without judgment
• Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Maintain store standards, organization, and workflow
• Assist with inventory-related tasks and other operational projects as assigned
• Model professionalism, dependability, and clear communication for the entire team

Qualifications

• At least two years of people management experience
• Previous retail management experience strongly preferred, but not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Comfortable giving constructive feedback and holding staff accountable while leading with empathy
• Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work a consistent schedule that includes evenings and Saturdays as well as occasionally cover additional shifts.
• Basic technology skills including comfort with Google docs, spreadsheets, online and in person POS systems and troubleshooting the occasional printer.

This role requires someone who genuinely enjoys working with a diverse range of people and can create an atmosphere where both staff and customers feel respected and supported.

You will regularly work with people of varied genders, sexual orientations, relationship structures, and life experiences. You should be comfortable discussing intimate topics with customers in a straightforward, nonjudgmental, and compassionate manner.

Likewise, you should be able to manage and support a team made up of individuals from a variety of backgrounds, approaching leadership with curiosity, accountability, and care.

Physically this job requires some extended periods of standing, navigating stairs multiple times a day and the ability to lift boxes up to about 25 pounds.
