Senior Product Manager - Search and Match

CharityJob, part of JobLadder, is the UK’s leading website for jobs in the charity and not-for-profit sector. We have 26 years’ experience of helping charities find outstanding talent to help them drive their missions forward. The company is based in Hampton Wick, and has a staff of around 40, based in UK and around Europe.

The role

The role will be hybrid, based in the office two days a week. You will be one of a team of five Product Managers, supported by a team of designers and developers.

As an immediate priority, you will own both sides of our marketplace connection: how candidates find the right jobs, and how charities find the right candidates. That means the candidate job search experience on one side (filters, alerts, and more), and the evolution of our sourcing products — the tools recruiters use to find candidates — on the other.

Your remit spans the full stack of that connection: the matching technology underneath, and the experience on top. UX matters as much as the algorithm — your job is to make finding a job, and finding a candidate, feel effortless for both audiences.

AI will be a major theme. You'll lead the work of bringing AI into candidate job search and recruiter candidate search alike — delivering modern solutions that are fair to candidates and fully compliant with UK data protection law.

In the future, you will take on other product management projects, depending on business needs and team skills. Our future plans are ambitious and wide ranging, and extend beyond our current sector, leaving plenty of room for professional development.

What you'll do

• Own the search and matching roadmap end to end: discovery, prioritisation, specification, delivery, and measurement
• Maintain and evolve our taxonomy — job titles, skills, sectors, and preferences — as the foundation for matching and relevance
• Evolve both search experiences — candidates searching for jobs and recruiters searching for candidates — with strong UX at the centre
• Improve search relevance on both sides of the marketplace, from near-term fixes to foundational bets like semantic search and learning loops
• Ship AI-powered features that help candidates find the right jobs — and that lawfully help recruiters find the right candidates
• Shape the AI-powered products that let charities proactively find candidates, partnering with sales and leadership on go-to-market
• Work data-first: define KPIs, run your own analyses, and build the case for every bet we take

What we're looking for

• Several years of product management experience with real ownership of outcomes, ideally including a commercial remit
• Experience with search, matching, recommendations, or a two-sided marketplace
• A strong eye for experience: you work closely with designers to craft excellent UX for recruiters and candidates alike
• Technical fluency: you can discuss ML-based matching and evaluation metrics with data scientists and engineers
• AI-native and high-throughput: you use AI daily in your own work, and ship specs fast enough to keep pace with a team that builds faster than most PMs can plan
• A strong communicator: you keep the business aligned on the roadmap and make clear, compelling cases for the work that matters
