WHY DO WE NEED YOU?The Plant Operations Manager is responsible for production, mill, maintenance, reliability and Warehousing functions, ensuring the efficient operation of the Gypsum Board plant - achieving safety, quality, service, and cost goals.
This Position Is Responsible ForThe overall success of the plantThe the majority of the hourly workforce, the role substantially impacts the success or failure of the business.
Leading a 24/7 manufacturing operationall equipment and physical plant maintenance.
Having a strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers and a solid knowledge of peer functional areas like Production, Process & Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Employee Relations, Purchasing, Materials processing, and Continuous Improvement.
This position will influence with and without authority. The broad scope of knowledge in Continuous improvement (WCM) methodologies, and OSHA; along with federal and state environmental requirements, supports this position representing the business on new product development teams and during regulatory audits in the absence of the Plant Manager.
Has accountability for overall plant operations, focusing on controllable cost budget development and attainment.
Acts as the Plant Manager during their absence.IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?BA/BS or equivalent experience in a Business, Engineering, or a related field7-10 years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment7+ years Technical Operations, with increasing levels of responsibility and autonomyProven ability to be an outstanding coach and leader, with succession planning and employee development skills.
Active interest and success in people development, training systems and error proofing Familiarity with Lean / World Class principles and practices. Ability to provide leadership and innovation at all levels of the organization utilizing differing styles of management; from directive, to coaching and support, through delegative, as the situation arises. Change management and conflict management skills.
Strong influencer and communicator. Results driven, flexible and open-minded with good written and oral communication. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Provided is the national pay range for this position, which is $111,000 to $177,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 15% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $127,200 to $203,500. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
