Position Summary

The Sales Area Manager – Central Region is responsible for driving profitable sales growth and managing strategic customer relationships within the Advance Water Solutions business. This role combines business development, account management, and technical consultative selling across industrial water treatment, process treatment, municipal water, mining, HI&I cleaning, and personal care markets.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Territory Growth

• Develop and execute a strategic territory business plan that drives revenue growth and market expansion.
• Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and consultative selling.
• Prepare annual territory sales forecasts, budgets, and business plans.
• Expand market share by promoting value-based specialty chemical solutions.

Account Management

• Manage and grow an established portfolio of strategic customer accounts.
• Build long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
• Deliver value-based technical solutions that improve customer performance.

Technical Sales & Market Leadership

• Provide technical expertise across industrial and municipal water treatment, mining, HI&I cleaning, and personal care applications.
• Coordinate technical presentations, product demonstrations, and distributor training with R&D and Technical Services.
• Represent the company during customer meetings, negotiations, and industry events.

Strategic Collaboration

• Partner with the Sales Director to execute regional sales strategies.
• Share market intelligence and collaborate with global commercial, technical, and marketing teams.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or another scientific discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years of outside sales experience in the specialty chemicals industry.
• Experience selling specialty chemical products into industrial and/or municipal water treatment markets.
• Demonstrated success in B2B technical sales.
• Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 50–70%.

Preferred

• Experience in mining, industrial process treatment, HI&I cleaning, or personal care markets.
• Experience working with distributors and channel partners.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
