Department
Under minimal supervision, the Nursing Program Manager performs managerial and leadership functions over professional nursing and support care team in various ambulatory care clinical healthcare consumer care settings.
Applies critical thinking, evidence-based policies, procedures, guidelines and competence to collaborate with the health care team to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality outcomes and independently works with the ACNO or Director to ensure alignment of clinical quality and projects with departmental and strategic goals.
This position will be part of the Immunization and Travel Clinic which is one of four clinics within the Public Health Institute at Denver Health.
The person will manages clinical, educational, and research operations for the Immunization and Travel program; manages staff and develops performance standards; support financial operations with the clinic administrator, supervise and direct all related activities in the assigned area; oversees day to day clinical operations, analyze and evaluate clinical, educational and research services for quality improvement; provides clinical support for all protocols and processes for the clinic following ACIP or other national organizations schedules and recommendations; oversee timely and appropriate communications with outside agencies; and work directly with the clinic administrator and other key staff to assume completion of tasks within departmental strategic plans.
Adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing practice / process and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics to provide care to all healthcare consumers. Applies critical thinking, evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with the health care team to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality outcomes.
Utilizes the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in daily practice. "Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, Founder / Director, Watson Caring Science Institute."
