This hybrid role combines Agile team leadership with traditional project management responsibilities, requiring an individual who can effectively balance both disciplines.

About the Role

Position is fully remote but candidates must be a commutable distance to office in Chicago for occasional on-site meetings. In this position, you will support up to two Scrum teams while overseeing end-to-end project delivery.

You will facilitate Agile ceremonies, coach teams on Scrum best practices, remove delivery obstacles, and drive successful project execution by managing timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, stakeholder communications, and overall project performance.

• Support and coach up to two Scrum teams on Agile principles and Scrum best practices.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including: Sprint Planning
• Daily Stand-Ups
• Sprint Reviews
• Retrospectives
• Program Increment (PI) Planning
• Partner with Product Owners to ensure backlog readiness and prioritization.
• Identify and remove impediments that impact team productivity or delivery.
• Promote continuous improvement and Agile maturity across teams.
• Foster a collaborative, transparent, and high-performing team environment.
• Help resolve team conflicts and improve overall team effectiveness.
• Serve as a liaison between Product Owners, stakeholders, and development teams.
• Monitor team health, delivery progress, and adherence to Agile methodologies.
• Project Management

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from initiation through implementation and successful delivery.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects and initiatives.
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, resource requirements, and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, workstreams, and status reports.
• Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation processes.
• Oversee project budgets, financial tracking, forecasting, and resource planning.
• Coordinate activities across business stakeholders, technology teams, Product Owners, and third-party vendors.
• Ensure projects remain on schedule and aligned with business objectives.
• Facilitate project meetings and provide executive-level status updates.
• Track vendor deliverables and ensure project milestones are met.
• Identify project challenges and implement solutions to maintain quality, productivity, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Proven experience serving as both a Scrum Master and Project Manager.
• Experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle, from planning to implementation.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum frameworks, and project management best practices.
• Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience identifying and mitigating project risks while driving issue resolution.
• Ability to build strong relationships and influence both technical and business stakeholders.
