Senior Finance and AP Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position provides timely and accurate processing of all day-to-day Accounting operations and project accounting work.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for all Accounts Payable
• Reconciles Payroll to the General Ledger on a bi-weekly basis
• Manages year-end 1099s process
• Acts as the primary point of contact and processes all Accounts Payable requests (checks, ACHs, and wires)
• Supports month-end closing, including timely and accurate cash account reconciliation
• Assists with annual budgeting and forecasting
• Performs year-end closing procedures and annual audit preparation accurately and timely
• Manages reconciliation of corporate credit cards monthly
• Reviews Accounting processes and makes suggestions for improvements
• Supports ad-hoc projects as directed by the Director of Finance
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 5-7 years of accounting and/or Finance experience
• Abila/MIP accounting software experience preferred
• ADP Workforce Now experience required
• Microsoft Office experience. Advanced Excel experience preferred
• Member-based nonprofit experience preferred

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent computer skills including database/spreadsheet skills, accounting software, MS Office and Internet.
• Must be extremely organized, possess a sense of urgency, exceptional organizational and follow up skills.
• Knowledge of Accounting and Finance procedures for a non-profit organization
• Professional self-starter, with the ability to work independently, without much supervision, as well as work collaboratively with others.
• Ability to prioritize ever-changing priorities.
• Ability to take direction from multiple people.
• Ability to create and maintain processes and policies.
