Our client a successful D2C fashion brand based in Manchester and now looking to recruit an experienced Performance Digital Marketing Manager. This role owns the commercial performance of paid media at brand managing their ad agency partner across paid social and PPC, and building the long-term plan to bring paid media in-house.

They will be comfortable challenging the agencies recommendations, testing their own, and building the case for what they do themselves versus what they outsource. Experience across other digital marketing channels (SEO, affiliate, CRM/email) is a plus, as this role is expected to have a view across the wider marketing mix.

Key Responsibilities

Agency Management

• Own the relationship with the paid social & PPC agency across Meta, TikTok, Google and YouTube.
• Hold the agency to targets: ROAS, blended CAC, and revenue contribution — and push back with data when performance slips
• Oversee media plans, budget pacing and creative testing calendars before spend goes live
• Run the cadence of performance reviews, ensuring the agency is proactive rather than reactive on optimisation.

Performance & Reporting

• Track blended CAC, ROAS and new-vs-returning customer split across all paid channels.
• Own the source-of-truth reporting view (independent of agency-reported numbers) using Dema, GA4 and platform data.
• Present monthly performance and testing recommendations to the Head of Ecommerce and wider teams.
• Translate performance data into clear commercial narratives for non-marketing stakeholders (Buying, Finance, founders).

Creative & Testing

• Partner with Creative/Brand to brief and prioritise an always-on creative testing calendar across channels.
• Identify which creative formats, hooks and angles are working, and feed learnings back into the content pipeline.

Strategy & Team Building

• Develop and present a long-term plan to bring paid media in-house
• Support recruitment, onboarding and managing an in-house paid media team as the function grows.
• Manage the paid media budget across agency fees and media spend, forecasting and reforecasting as trading conditions change.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• 6+ years' experience in paid media/performance marketing within ecommerce or DTC fashion/retail.
• Proven experience managing an agency against commercial KPIs, not just activity
• Strong grasp of blended CAC, ROAS, contribution margin and LTV.
• Working knowledge of GA4, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager and Google Ads.
• Line management experience
• Experience with attribution/analytics platforms
• Exposure to SEO, affiliate, or CRM/email channels.
• Experience insourcing a paid media function and building a team from scratch
