Town of Queen Creek
The Town is seeking a Project Manager to join its Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) Department. The CIP Department is responsible for the planning, design, procurement, and construction of a diverse portfolio of public infrastructure projects that support the Town's growing community and operational needs.
Projects managed by the department include water, reclaimed water, wastewater, drainage, transportation, parks and recreation, public facilities, and public safety infrastructure.
Typical projects may involve pump stations, wells, reservoirs, transmission mains, water quality and metering facilities, pressure reducing stations, lift stations, trunk sewers, treatment facilities, drainage systems, streets, roadway structures, traffic signals, trails, buildings, and related infrastructure improvements.
Candidates will possess project management experience involving public infrastructure projects and have a strong understanding of project development, design, construction, permitting, procurement, scheduling and stakeholder coordination.
Experience with preparing and interpreting construction specifications, technical document review, system commissioning, utility coordination, and infrastructure project delivery is highly desirable.
Experience with water and wastewater system modeling, well development, pump stations, storage and treatment facilities, drainage management system improvements, geotechnical and erosion resistance improvements, pavement-related projects, and coordination with regulatory agencies and utility providers is beneficial.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in the design, specification and construction of water and wastewater facilities including wells, booster pump and lift stations, and storage reservoirs along with treatment systems and facilities.
The Town works with projects located in both Maricopa and Pinal Counties, abuts three municipalities, a County regional park, and the Gila River Indian Community. The Town lies within four school districts, contains multiple charter schools, and is served by two electric districts, two natural gas providers and multiple telecommunications providers.
The Town is traversed by the Union Pacific Railroad, Queen Creek Wash, Sonoqui Wash and receives direct runoff from the Santan mountains. Land within and adjacent to the Town is serviced by two federal irrigation districts, multiple private organized irrigation districts and multiple private irrigation systems.
Experience dealing with these types of natural and man-made features, governmental entities, utility providers and the unique legal positions the operate is desirable.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with the ability to effectively manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, governmental agencies, utility providers, consultants, contractors, and community partners.
The department works closely with internal clients and supports the Town's Real Estate Division in the delivery of capital improvement projects.
Professional licensure in engineering or surveying and/or project management or infrastructure-related certifications are highly desirable.IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATIONThis position is open on a continuous basis. The advertised salary range provided covers the entire compensation spectrum for the position classification. The anticipated hiring range for this role is between $93,564.96 to $114,617.24 annually. It's essential to note that the actual salary offered will be determined based on several factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity considerations.
