Contract Project Manager – ADU Design & Permitting (Remote / Part-Time)

The ADU Dudes is a boutique ADU design and construction management company serving the San Francisco Bay Area. For select clients, we offer a complete Design

• Manage
• Build service. We are looking for an experienced Contract Project Manager to oversee the design and permitting phase of these projects. This is not a construction management position. Construction management is handled directly by The ADU Dudes ownership team.

This is a remote, part-time 1099 contract position with compensation paid on a per-project basis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the design and permitting process.
• Coordinate with homeowners, designers, structural engineers, surveyors, geotechnical consultants, and other project partners.
• Manage the design process from initial concept through permit-ready plans for projects utilizing our design services.
• Prepare and submit permit packages to city and county agencies.
• Monitor permit status and proactively follow up with Planning, Building, Fire, Public Works, sanitary districts, and other reviewing agencies.
• Coordinate responses to plan check comments and ensure revisions are completed promptly.
• Keep projects moving by anticipating and resolving issues before they create delays.
• Provide frequent, proactive updates to clients and The ADU Dudes ownership.
• Maintain organized project schedules, permit logs, and documentation.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience from project kickoff through permit approval.

Qualifications

• Experience managing residential design and permit submittals in California.
• ADU experience is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Bay Area permitting agencies, especially Contra Costa County, Alameda County, and surrounding jurisdictions.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Highly responsive, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining outstanding customer service.
