Controls Testing & Assurance Manager - Information Technology and Information Security

Established financial services organisation operating within a highly regulated environment, with a strong focus on risk management, governance and operational resilience. Sydney based organisation with 3 days in CBD.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, this newly created role will take ownership of the Information Security controls testing and assurance framework across the business. Leading a team of one, you will drive a risk-based testing program, oversee CPS 234 assurance activities, support control uplift initiatives and partner with stakeholders across the organisation to strengthen risk and control outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage the enterprise controls testing program
• Lead IT and Information Security testing activities aligned to CPS 234 and CPS 230 requirements
• Drive control uplift initiatives and provide advisory support on control design and effectiveness
• Oversee control remediation and annual control validation activities
• Partner with business, risk and audit teams to align assurance outcomes and reporting
• Build and lead a controls assurance community of practice across the organisation
• Report key assurance findings and control effectiveness outcomes to senior risk forums and committees Skills & Experience6+ years' experience in risk, compliance, controls testing or assurance within an APRA-regulated environment
• CPS 234 assurance and testing experience is essential
• Strong IT, cyber security and information security controls testing capability
• Experience working across risk, audit and business stakeholders
• Insurance, financial services or other APRA-regulated industry experience
• Relevant qualifications in Business, Audit, Risk, CISA, CPA or similar
• Prior consulting experience highly viewed upon
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and reporting skills
