Business Analyst, Risk Data - Fall 2026 (Co-op/Internship)

About the role

This is an 8-month internship position for the Fall 2026 term. The role focuses on risk data analytics, where you will transform raw data into actionable insights to support business decision-making. You will work within the Risk Data team to design reporting solutions, optimize data processes, and facilitate the use of analytics tools across the organization.

What you'll do

• Identify trends and patterns to answer business questions and provide insights.
• Build reporting dashboards using data extraction, cleaning, and visualization techniques.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and evaluate existing systems for improvement.
• Document data flows, systems, and processes to enhance design and management.
• Develop tools and deliver training programs to support non-analytical users with reporting and self-serve analytics.
• Work with stakeholders to enhance the usability and aesthetic appeal of analytics solutions.
• Apply the Risk Management Framework to ensure all decisions align with business strategy and policy.

What you'll need

• Enrollment in a post-secondary degree program related to Data Science, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• Foundational proficiency in data visualization, data storytelling, and data mining.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Typically 1-2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with Python, REST APIs, and RAG workflows is preferred.
