Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Sydney, NSW. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing. The role involves preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting to management.

The Accountant will also handle tax compliance, assist with audits, and maintain adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborating with internal teams, the Accountant will support financial planning, provide analytical insights, and contribute to process improvements that strengthen financial controls and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in financial accounting, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Knowledge of Australian taxation regulations, compliance requirements, and experience supporting internal or external audits.
• Competence with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
• CPA or CA certification (completed or in progress) is an advantage.
• Experience in consultancy, education, or professional services environments is beneficial, along with a commitment to ethical and transparent financial practices.
