What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers to facilitate smooth freight operations - International freight movements
• Negotiate pricing and terms with carriers to ensure competitive rates while maximizing profitability
• Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments, manage inventory levels, and streamline logistics processes
• Collaborate with warehouse management teams to coordinate shipping and receiving activities
• Analyze data to identify trends in demand planning and optimize transportation routes
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in freight movement and inventory management
• Oversee the dispatching of shipments, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to customer requirements
• Manage documentation related to shipping, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork

Basic qualifications

• Strong understanding of supply chain logistics and freight brokerage operations
• Excellent communication skills for effective negotiation and relationship-building
• Proficiency in data analysis skills to drive decision-making processes
• Experience with ERP systems and warehouse management systems (WMS) - Cargo Wise experience an asset
• Familiarity with transportation planning, category management, and materials handling practices
• Knowledge of 3PL (third-party logistics) operations and e-commerce fulfillment strategies
• Experience with over the road shipments
• WMS inventory management / order entry experience is an asset
• Import/Export International experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
