Senior DevOps Engineer (Hybrid Cloud – Azure & AWS)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant hybrid cloud architectures across Azure and AWS within a regulated enterprise environment.

This is a strategic leadership role combining deep technical expertise with stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for translating business requirements into high- and low-level architectural designs, ensuring strong governance, security, and adherence to financial regulations.

You will play a key role in shaping hybrid cloud strategy, driving FinOps optimisation, and implementing zero-trust security models, while mentoring engineering teams and aligning solutions with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement hybrid cloud architectures across Azure and AWS
• Translate business requirements into HLD/LLD architectural designs
• Define and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance frameworks
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 27001)
• Design secure network architectures (Zero Trust, segmentation, private connectivity)
• Drive FinOps strategies to optimise cloud cost and resource utilisation
• Lead implementation of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business and regulatory requirements
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and DevOps teams
• Conduct architecture reviews focusing on performance, scalability, and resilience
• Work closely with security and risk teams to ensure compliance and risk mitigation
• Drive standardisation and best practices across multi-cloud environments

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering
• Strong experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms
• Proven expertise in designing hybrid cloud architectures
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance frameworks
• Experience implementing Zero Trust security models and IAM strategies
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, automation, and DevOps pipelines
• Knowledge of FinOps, cost optimisation, and cloud resource management
• Experience working in regulated environments (banking/financial services preferred)
• Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership skills
• Ability to produce architecture documentation and design artefacts
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, or equivalent preferred
