Treasury Director

Designation: Investment Director

Reporting to: Group CFO

Role Overview

The Treasury Director is responsible for leading the group's treasury function, including liquidity and cash management, funding and debt strategy, banking relationships, and financial risk management.

This position requires strong financial acumen, an in-depth understanding of capital markets and banking structures, and the leadership capability to safeguard the group's liquidity position while supporting its strategic and investment objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury Strategy & Leadership

• Lead the development and execution of the group's treasury strategy, covering liquidity management, funding, and capital structure.
• Formulate treasury policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with group governance and regulatory requirements.
• Present treasury performance, funding strategy, and risk positions to the Group CFO, executive committee, and board of directors.
• Advise on the treasury implications of M&A, IPO, and capital markets transactions in coordination with the Investments team.

Liquidity & Cash Management

• Oversee group-wide cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity planning.
• Manage intercompany funding arrangements and cash pooling structures across group entities.
• Monitor daily cash positions and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational and strategic requirements.

Funding, Debt & Banking Relationships

• Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of debt facilities, bond issuances, and other funding instruments.
• Manage relationships with banks, rating agencies, and financial institutions to secure competitive financing terms.
• Monitor covenant compliance and debt maturity profiles, coordinating refinancing activity as required.

Financial Risk Management

• Develop and implement strategies to manage foreign exchange, interest rate, and counterparty risk.
• Establish and monitor treasury risk limits, hedging programs, and investment guidelines for surplus cash.
• Ensure robust controls over treasury operations, including payments, bank account management, and fraud prevention.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and develop a team of treasury professionals, providing mentorship, training, and performance oversight.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, investments, legal, and operations teams on funding and risk matters.
• Drive a culture of analytical rigor, accountability, and sound financial governance within the treasury function.

Qualifications

• MBA, Chartered Accountant (CA), CFA or ACT (Association of Corporate Treasurers) certification
