Dental Assistant – HAAD License Required

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Dental Assistant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will provide chairside support to dentists, maintain high standards of patient care, and ensure clinical operations comply with Department of Health (DOH) regulations and the clinic's quality standards.

This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding patient experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Support

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and treatment rooms.
• Ensure patients are comfortable before, during, and after treatment.
• Maintain a clear operating field using suction and other chairside techniques.
• Capture dental radiographs in accordance with DOH regulations and clinic protocols.
• Take dental impressions and assist with laboratory procedures as delegated.
• Provide patients with post-treatment care instructions as directed by the dentist.

Patient Coordination

• Welcome and prepare patients for their appointments.
• Obtain and update patients' medical and dental histories accurately.
• Support patients by explaining routine procedures and addressing basic concerns professionally.
• Promote a positive and patient-centered clinical experience.

Administrative Duties

• Coordinate the daily treatment schedule with the assigned dentist and reception team.
• Assist in documenting clinical notes and treatment details within the clinic management system.
• Verify insurance approvals and patient eligibility before initiating procedures when required.
• Coordinate with the billing team regarding treatment updates affecting patient invoices.
• Monitor dental inventory and report shortages or equipment concerns promptly.
• Ensure treatment rooms remain organized, stocked, and ready for patient care.

Infection Prevention & Compliance

• Perform sterilization and disinfection of instruments according to infection prevention protocols.
• Prepare treatment rooms following clinic safety standards.
• Maintain compliance with DOH requirements and internal quality management policies.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Dentistry or a related healthcare discipline.
• Valid DOH/HAAD Dental Assistant License (mandatory).
• Certification in Dental Assisting or Dental Administration is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic or healthcare facility.
• Previous UAE healthcare experience is preferred.
• Eligible to practice under DOH licensing requirements.

Required Skills

• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal and patient care skills.
• Experience using electronic dental or medical record systems.
• Knowledge of Dok32 or similar dental software is an advantage.
• Arabic language proficiency is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork.
