Medical Laboratory Technician

• Performs a variety of laboratory testing and related tasks.

• Performs routine procedural steps of laboratory tests.
• Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• 1. Monitors and resolves problems related to specimen processes and activities of the Laboratory Technicians and Laboratory Assistants.
• 2. Receives sorts and accessions lab specimens in ICIS and processes them by manual and automated methods and contacts phlebotomists, nurses, and doctors as required to solve specimen-related problems.
• 3. Views activities orders in ICIS and prints both collection and aliquot labels.
• 4. Performs separate procedural steps of less complex laboratory testing procedures to obtain results for diagnosis of patient diseases.
• 5. Operates automated testing and diagnostic equipment in accordance with accepted and established procedures.
• 6. Prepares specimens for observation and analysis by other laboratory staff members.
• 7. Identifies and labels all specimens to be retained and files them for later reference.
• 8. Assists in training new laboratory technicians and trainees.
• 9. Inventories and requests of biweekly supplies (warehouse and pre-analytical machines supplies) andarranges monthly staff schedule with the senior and supervisor.
• 10. Works in accordance with standards established by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Education
• Bachelor s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Medical or Laboratory Technology, or other related discipline is required.

ExperienceRequired Grade 07: One (1) year of related experience with Bachelor's or two (2) years with Associate Degree/Diploma is required. Grade 08:

• Four (4) years as Medical Laboratory Technician at KFSH&RC, or (Grade 07) related experience is required.
• Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
• Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education (CME).

• Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
• Bilingual skills (English/Arabic) is required for verbal and written communication purposes.
• Completion of approved accreditation according to country of origin is required for non-Saudi.
