Role Overview
VoPay is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Web Developer to join our Doha office. This is a hands-on development role responsible for designing, building, launching and maintaining modern websites across multiple projects, brands and countries.
The successful candidate must be capable of taking a website from initial requirements and architecture through development, CMS integration, testing, deployment and ongoing optimization.
The Senior Web Developer will initially work independently under the leadership of the Chief Marketing Officer and collaborate with marketing, design, content, product, technology and external partners. As the team grows, the role may also provide technical direction and day-to-day guidance to junior developers, web designers and content managers.
The ideal candidate is passionate about building high-quality digital experiences, takes ownership of projects and can balance strong technical execution with business, brand, user experience and marketing requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesWebsite Development and Architecture
- Design, develop and launch responsive, high-performance websites from the ground up.
- Translate business requirements, wireframes and design files into scalable, production-ready websites.
- Recommend appropriate technology stacks, CMS platforms, hosting environments and development frameworks for each project.
- Build reusable website components, page templates and structured content models.
- Develop websites that can scale across multiple brands, business units, countries and languages.
- Maintain clean, secure, documented and maintainable code.
- Establish development, staging, quality assurance and production environments.
- Manage website deployments, releases, backups, version control and rollback procedures.
CMS Development and Management
- Implement and customize modern content management systems, including WordPress, Webflow, headless CMS platforms or comparable solutions.
- Build flexible CMS structures that allow marketing and content teams to update pages without ongoing developer support.
- Create reusable templates for landing pages, articles, events, programs, team profiles, case studies and other content types.
- Configure user roles, publishing permissions, workflows and approval processes.
- Train content managers and internal stakeholders on CMS administration and publishing best practices.
- Evaluate plugins, extensions and third-party tools for security, performance and long-term maintainability.
Integrations
- Integrate websites with CRM, analytics, marketing automation, event registration, newsletter, chatbot and lead management platforms.
- Build and maintain API-based integrations between websites and internal or third-party systems.
- Develop secure forms, application workflows, file-upload functionality and automated notification processes.
- Support integrations with platforms such as HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, Calendly, Eventbrite, webinar tools and other business applications.
- Implement source tracking, campaign attribution, conversion tracking and structured lead routing.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and coordinate with internal technology teams and external vendors when required.
Multi-Country and Multilingual Website Management
- Develop and maintain websites serving multiple countries, regions and audiences.
- Create scalable URL, domain, subdomain and language structures.
- Plan and implement redirects, domain migrations and page-level redirect strategies.
- Support English and Arabic websites, including right-to-left layouts, Arabic typography, translated navigation, forms and metadata.
- Ensure consistent technical architecture while allowing for regional content, compliance and localization requirements.
Performance, SEO and Accessibility
- Build websites with strong technical SEO/AEO and answer-engine optimization foundations.
- Implement clean URLs, structured headings, metadata, schema markup, XML sitemaps, robots.txt and indexing controls.
- Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile performance and overall website reliability.
- Implement analytics and conversion tracking across all websites and campaigns.
- Follow accessibility best practices, including keyboard navigation, semantic structure, accessible forms, image alt text and appropriate colour contrast.
- Work with marketing and content teams to ensure websites support organic growth, lead generation and measurable conversion goals.
Security and Website Governance
- Apply website security best practices across hosting, CMS administration, forms, integrations and user access.
- Configure SSL, firewalls, malware protection, spam prevention, backups and uptime monitoring.
- Maintain secure development and deployment practices.
- Implement role-based access and reduce unnecessary administrative permissions.
- Monitor platform, theme, plugin and dependency updates.
- Identify and resolve website vulnerabilities, performance issues and technical risks.
- Help establish website governance, documentation and standard operating procedures.
Project and Team Leadership
- Own technical delivery across multiple website projects and priorities.
- Provide realistic development estimates, identify dependencies and communicate project risks.
- Work closely with the CMO to prioritize website initiatives based on business and marketing objectives.
- Collaborate with designers, content managers, SEO specialists, product teams and external agencies.
- Review technical work completed by junior developers or third-party vendors.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, web designers and content administrators.
- Establish development standards, documentation practices, testing processes and quality controls.
- Manage projects independently while maintaining clear communication with leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional website development experience.
- Experience building secure application forms, portals, directories, resource centres or authenticated website experiences.
- Demonstrated experience building and launching complex websites from the ground up.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and responsive front-end development.
- Strong experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework, such as React, Next.js, Vue.js or a comparable framework.
- Advanced experience with CMS implementation and customization, including WordPress, Webflow, headless CMS platforms or similar systems.
- Familiarity with Qatar and GCC digital, privacy, accessibility and localization requirements.
- Experience developing custom CMS themes, templates, components, content types and integrations.
- Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, authentication methods and third-party system integrations.
- Experience managing hosting, domains, DNS, SSL certificates, CDNs, staging environments and production releases.
- Strong knowledge of website security, performance optimization, technical SEO and accessibility.
- Experience developing or maintaining multilingual websites, including English and Arabic.
- Strong written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and quality assurance skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and drive projects through completion.
- Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Pay: QAR6,447.42 - QAR23,815.80 per month
