Safety Officer with Oil & Gas Experience

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Safety Officer with Oil & Gas industry experience in Qatar for a 3-month temporary assignment to support ongoing project activities at QatarEnergy. The role focuses on ensuring full compliance with HSE regulations, monitoring site safety, and minimizing risks during project execution within industrial and Oil & Gas environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and permit-to-work systems on-site.
• Conduct daily site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Identify hazards and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented promptly.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE briefings to the workforce.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and strict adherence to company and client safety standards.
• Monitor ongoing construction, maintenance, lifting, confined space, hot work, and industrial activities to prevent unsafe practices.
• Ensure compliance with Oil & Gas safety regulations and client-specific HSE requirements.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare detailed reports.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, permits, and documentation.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and site teams to ensure safe execution of work activities.
• Support emergency response preparedness and participate in safety drills when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, industrial, petrochemical, or construction projects.
• Previous experience working in refineries, petrochemical plants, or shutdown/maintenance projects is an advantage.
• NEBOSH IGC certification (mandatory or preferred).
• Familiarity with PTW systems, JSA, HIRA, and industrial safety practices.
• Knowledge of QatarEnergy/QAPCO/Qatar industrial safety standards is preferred.
• Familiarity with local HSE regulations and Qatar project experience preferred.
• Good communication skills in English.

Pay: QAR6,000.00 - QAR7,000.00 per month
