Job Description

The Government of Oman is seeking qualified Lab Technicians to join its healthcare system. As a Lab Technician in Oman, you will play an essential role in supporting healthcare providers by conducting a range of diagnostic tests and analyses to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely diagnostic tests and analyses, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment following safety protocols to ensure accurate results.
• Prepare specimens and samples, ensuring adherence to best practices in sample handling and storage.
• Record, document, and report test results precisely, updating laboratory records as required.
• Conduct regular quality control checks and calibrate lab equipment for optimal performance.

• Assist healthcare professionals with interpreting lab results, providing necessary data for diagnoses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (BSc) with 2 years of experience, or a DMLT with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient knowledge of laboratory equipment and diagnostic procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to accurately record and report data, with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Excellent teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and practices for handling biological samples and chemicals.
• Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for laboratory practices.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an asset but not required.
