Paralegal/Legal Secretary

Job Summary

Boutique plaintiff firm specializing in medical malpractice and personal injury seeks a full time paralegal/legal secretary with experience in both fields.

Responsibilities

• The paralegal will handle drafting correspondence, discover requests and responses including authorization for medical records, pleadings and motions. In addition, our paralegals have frequent client interaction and are the face of our firm to potential clients. Many of the potential clients we speak with have undergone traumatic experiences in their lives. Applicants must be empathetic and also be able to demonstrate that our firm is ready, willing and able to fight on their behalf.

Duties Include

• Drafting and filing complaints interrogations, discovery demands, requests, and responses, litigation correspondence, and motions.
• Play a crucial role in interviewing and on-boarding potential new clients, tracking and developing client files, responding to client concerns.
• Must have knowledge of e-filing in state jurisdictions.

Experience

• Prior experience as a paralegal or legal secretary in a fast-paced legal environment is preferred
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and document management systems
• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks efficiently under tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with legal software applications
• Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential for effective collaboration
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a team-oriented approach

Qualifications Include

• Associates Degree or higher
• 2+ years of experience as a paralegal
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational kills and ability to prioritize.
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist beyond basic duties.
