The Industry

Recent legislation is requiring transparent pharmaceutical pricing, forcing benefits brokers to revisit their PBM providers. Kanurra is the PBM answering this need, with a flat fee per employee and receipts. Every claim is itemized to the cent, in real time.

What You'll Do

• Own the formulary and the prior authorization criteria outright, including what the automated layer may and may not decide
• Review and sign off on every off-pathway prior authorization, with your clinical rationale logged against the claim
• Stand up and chair Kanurra's Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee from scratch
• Set clinical policy for specialty and GLP-1 drugs, including continuity protocols so no member gets stranded mid-therapy during a plan switch
• Serve as the named clinical contact in client and broker contracts
• Own the clinical side of the drug-level reporting now required under federal law, so what we disclose is clinically defensible as well as accurate
• Work directly with engineering to translate clinical judgment into the rules the system actually enforces
• Build clinical operations, credentialing, and compliance from the ground up

What We're Looking For

• Active PharmD with pharmacist licensure, plus existing licensure or eligibility across all 50 states
• Roughly 4 or more years in clinical pharmacy, with real ownership of formulary, prior authorization, or medication policy inside a PBM or managed care organization
• Helpful but not required, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee experience, and the ability to defend a policy position with clinical evidence and cost-effectiveness data
• Fluency in how this industry actually works: formulary strategy, prior authorization, rebate mechanics, specialty, GLP-1
• Helpful but not required: experience implementing medication policy inside an automated prior authorization system
• Comfort being the final clinical word in the room, without a committee above you to defer to
• Experience at companies like SmithRx, Rightway, or MedImpact is welcome, though we care more about judgment than logos
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

$200,000 and 0.5% equity
