Professional Land Surveyor PLS - NY licensed

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensed in New York to join our dynamic surveying team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and execute comprehensive land surveying projects, utilizing advanced technology and innovative methods.

Duties

• Lead land surveying projects from initial planning through final delivery, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations and standards
• Utilize GPS surveying techniques, 3D scanners, and GIS software such as ArcGIS to collect, analyze, and interpret spatial data
• Prepare detailed topographic maps, schematics, and construction plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, Carlson, and Civil 3D software
• Conduct ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association), boundary surveys, and legal description preparations for various property types
• Manage data collection efforts using Trimble equipment and coordinate fieldwork with survey teams to ensure efficient operations
• Develop and review construction plans, manage mapping or surveying teams, and oversee project timelines to meet deadlines
• Perform complex calculations involving algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and math fundamentals to support accurate survey results
• Create detailed reports documenting survey findings, topographic features, GPS data points, and schematics for client review
• Collaborate with civil engineers on land development projects by providing precise survey data that informs design decisions
• Maintain thorough records of all survey activities, ensuring compliance with legal standards and project specifications

Qualifications

• Valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in New York State is required
• Proven experience in land surveying within civil engineering contexts; construction experience is highly desirable
• Ability to interpret construction plans and schematics while coordinating with project managers and engineers
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting survey findings clearly
