As they continue to scale, they are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of the next-generation Computational Design & CAD platform powering highly customized medical devices.

You'll be responsible for translating expert domain knowledge into scalable parametric design systems, helping create intelligent workflows that can automatically generate manufacturable products from anatomical and clinical inputs.

This is a highly strategic position where you'll collaborate closely with AI engineers, clinicians, designers, and manufacturing teams to build the foundation for future product innovation.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and develop parametric and procedural CAD pipelines for generating custom products.
• Partner with subject matter experts to translate complex design requirements into scalable, automated systems.
• Build reusable libraries of parametric components and design primitives that can be expanded across multiple product lines.
• Work alongside AI teams to define how predictive models interact with CAD generation workflows.
• Develop advanced geometric tooling including surface modeling, offsets, trimlines, feature placement, and manufacturable geometry generation.
• Automate design workflows through CAD APIs and geometry kernels rather than traditional GUI-driven processes.
• Ensure generated outputs meet manufacturing and quality standards while driving automation throughout the design-to-production process.
• Help shape the future architecture of AI-driven design systems.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

• 5+ years building parametric or procedural CAD systems within engineering, product development, manufacturing, or related industries.
• Strong experience with programmatic CAD development and geometry automation.
• Expertise with tools such as:
• Rhino / Grasshopper
• Onshape API
• SolidWorks API
• Fusion API
• or equivalent CAD platforms
• Deep understanding of:
• NURBS
• B-Rep modeling
• Meshing
• Surface and solid modeling operations
• Strong software engineering skills using:
• Python
• TypeScript
• C++
• or similar programming languages
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and convert ambiguous requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Experience thriving in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with geometric modeling kernels such as OpenCascade or Parasolid.
• Knowledge of implicit geometry representations.
• Simulation-driven design, topology optimization, or shape optimization experience.
• Familiarity with CAD interoperability formats including STEP, IGES, or JT.
• Exposure to AI-powered or generative design workflows.
• Experience within medical devices, orthotics, prosthetics, footwear, dental technology, or other anatomy-driven product industries.
