We are seeking a Financial Assistant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional looking to build a strong foundation in accounting and financial operations while gaining exposure to the broader finance function within a growing professional services firm.

Reporting to the Controller, you’ll play an important role in supporting the firm’s day-to-day financial operations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Process accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, and payment preparation.
• Record accounts receivable transactions and client payments.
• Assist with payroll preparation and related administrative tasks.
• Assist the Controller with month-end and year-end accounting activities by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and completing assigned tasks.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with the Senior Billing Coordinator regarding client payments, retainers, and account information.
• Respond to routine accounting inquiries from vendors, attorneys, and staff.
• Contribute to process improvements and help identify opportunities to increase efficiency.
• Assist with special accounting projects and other finance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills — this is essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 1+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Prior experience with QuickBooks or Tabs3 preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience
