Lab Technician - Onsite

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Lab Technician for an Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in South San Francisco, CA. This is an 8+ month contract opportunity.

This role supports the Media Prep and Lab Services department by producing microbiological and cell culture media, preparing and cleaning glassware, and managing inventory. The position requires driving a company vehicle to deliver materials around the campus and adherence to established safety and documentation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Produce microbiological media, cell culture media, various solutions, and buffers
• Clean, sterilize, prepare, and distribute glassware and equipment
• Operate process equipment including autoclaves, washers, ovens, and benchtop instruments
• Maintain required inventory levels in distribution satellites using FIFO (First In-First Out)
• Drive a company vehicle to pick up and deliver glassware around the campus
• Provide routine updates on progress, status, and issues associated with labware and inventory
• Adhere to SOPs, cGMPs, and other established procedures for safety and documentation
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and 5S as assigned

Requirements

• BS/BA in one of the life sciences or an equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record (cleared MVR)
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Knowledge of basic computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel)
• Non-slip, steel toe boots are required by start date (purchase will be reimbursed)
• Strong background in media prep and glassware operations or a related operational environment

Desired skills

• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with sterilizing/cleaning equipment
• Ability to respond to new requests with appropriate urgency and an organized approach
• Holds self accountable to fulfill assigned tasks and achieve results within timelines
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Pay range

up to $26.62 per hour
