The Lycée Français de San Francisco is seeking qualified applicants for an Elementary (K-5th grade) Temporary English
teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in English Language Arts, with a commitment to embedding
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into all teaching and learning. A strong understanding of bilingual education is a plus.
This role requires creativity, patience, and creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
The Lycée Français de San Francisco is a French Immersion College Preparatory School in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We provide a challenging educational environment based on the French national curriculum and English classes based
on the California Common Core from PS-12th grade. Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a
well-structured, well-assimilated body of general knowledge while encouraging the development of analytical and critical
thinking skills. Our students earn a US high school diploma, as well as prepare for the French Baccalauréat or the
International Baccalaureate, which qualifies them for both American and European Universities.
Design and implement comprehensive English language instruction aligned with LFSF curriculum standards,
incorporating literature, writing, grammar, and vocabulary development.
Integrate language skills such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening into lesson plans to support students' English
language.
Create opportunities for students to practice and develop their English language proficiency through various activities,
discussions, projects, and assessments.
Incorporate cultural elements into English language instruction to broaden students' understanding of English-speaking
countries and promote cultural diversity, aligned with our DEIB standards.
Utilize differentiated instruction techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students
have the opportunity to succeed and progress in their English language skills.
Implement ongoing assessment strategies to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to support their
language development.
Collaborate with colleagues, including French language teachers and other subject area teachers, to support
interdisciplinary learning and promote language integration across the curriculum.
Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding students' progress, challenges, and
achievements in English language learning.
Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
Participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, and events that contribute to the overall school community and support
students' holistic development.
Start Date: November 2nd 2026 to March 31st, 2027 for 5 months (maternity leave)
Status: Part-Time, 13h hours per week (62% of FTE), reports to the Primary Principal
Location: Ashbury Campus, San Francisco
Candidates with 3 to 5 years related experience in the education field can anticipate a yearly salary, ranging from:
$49,891 to $51,939 for 13 hours of teaching per week (based on Salary Grid 1, 2026/2027). The salary offered to the
successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years
of experience in the job, type and years of experience in the industry, education, etc. Lycée offers a negotiated salary
range.
