Job Description
As Regional Manager, Environmental Health & Safety, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership for the implementation, enforcement, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and processes across multiple sites.
- Plan, direct, and implement corporate policies, procedures, and standards at all assigned locations.
- Communicate EHS progress, status, and issues throughout the organization; proactively build awareness through ongoing communication strategies.
- Track, administer, and report EHS metrics and performance measurements to senior leadership.
- Identify and implement best-in-class EHS practices through benchmarking, training, and industry engagement.
- Develop and implement programs focused on achieving injury-free workplaces.
- Drive accountability across all functions to eliminate accidents and injuries while fostering employee ownership and engagement.
- Develop and execute initiatives designed to identify, evaluate, prevent, and control environmental, health, and safety hazards.
- Implement and maintain industrial hygiene programs and standards across all facilities.
- Develop and oversee execution of comprehensive safety training programs.
- Develop and oversee employee safety recognition and reward programs.
- Develop and oversee contractor safety programs to ensure compliance with EHS standards.
- Ensure compliance with environmental protection and conservation regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies on EHS matters.
- Conduct and document accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, providing recommendations to reduce future risk.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory reporting requirements and oversee routine site audits.
- Administer emergency evacuation drills and ensure appropriate emergency preparedness programs are in place across all locations.
- Develop and oversee annual safety training calendars and compliance requirements.
- Provide direction and guidance to site safety personnel and participate in talent selection and performance management.
- Coach and mentor safety professionals and key stakeholders to support professional growth and operational excellence.
- Lead and support cross-functional safety committees.
- Comply with all company policies regarding employment, safety, quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
Travel Requirement: Approximately 60% regional travel.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive EHS leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations, including OSHA and environmental compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-site environmental and safety programs.
- Experience identifying, evaluating, and mitigating workplace hazards.
- Experience developing and implementing EHS policies, programs, and management systems that drive world-class safety performance.
- Professional certifications and/or formal Health & Safety training preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and influence-management skills.
