About The Role

The Attorney Learning & Development Operations Specialist ("Specialist") provides operational, project management, and administrative support for the Firm's Attorney Learning & Development ("ALDG") function.

Working closely with the Director of Attorney Learning & Development, ALDG leadership, and cross-functional departments, the Specialist supports attorney learning, professional development, and performance management initiatives by coordinating operations, maintaining department resources, managing projects, budgets, and reporting, and continuously improving the operational infrastructure that supports the Firm's attorney learning and development programs.

Department Operations & Administration

• Provides operational and project support to the Director of Attorney Learning & Development and ALDG leadership in executing departmental initiatives, strategic priorities, and special projects.
• Collaborates with the Attorney Learning & Development team to improve processes and ensure consistent departmental practices.
• Maintains Attorney Learning & Development content on MoFo Connect and other internal platforms.
• Drafts department and firmwide communications related to Attorney Learning & Development programs and initiatives.
• Coordinates onboarding for new Attorney Learning & Development team members.
• Serves as a resource on Attorney Learning & Development programs, policies, systems, and procedures.
• Assists with budget administration, including expense tracking, reporting, vendor invoicing, purchase requests, and payment processing.

Attorney Performance Management

• Provides operational and administrative support for attorney and agent performance management processes, including associate evaluations, upward reviews, and income partner reviews.
• Serves as the operational resource for evaluation technology platforms, including viEval, NPA Tracker, Workday, and related systems, partnering with Information Technology on enhancements, testing, documentation, and user support.
• Serves as a point of contact for attorneys, partners, managers, and business professionals regarding evaluation processes, timelines, systems, and communications.
• Maintains attorney evaluation data and reporting, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Supports the administration and continuous improvement of income partner check-in and evaluation processes.

Attorney Engagement

• Assists with administration of external attorney surveys in collaboration with Recruiting, We@MoFo, and Marketing, including participant communications, response tracking, and recognition activities.
• Maintains Associate Committee rosters, distribution lists, and intranet content.
• Coordinates committee membership updates, meeting schedules, communications, and logistics.

Attorney Learning & Development Programming

While the primary focus of this role is operational support, the Specialist may assist with the planning and execution of attorney learning programs and large-scale events as business needs require.

• Assists with planning and execution of firmwide, regional, and off-site attorney learning programs and events.
• Coordinates program communications, materials, registration, CLE administration, attendance tracking, evaluations, and post-program reporting.
• Coordinates technology, conference rooms, audiovisual support, catering, travel, and other program logistics.
• Partners with internal departments, external vendors, consultants, faculty, and presenters to support successful program delivery.
• Serves as an operational resource during programs by responding to participant needs and troubleshooting issues.
• Performs other learning program coordination and operational support responsibilities as assigned.

About You

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Five or more years of experience in learning and development, professional development, operations, project management, legal administration, or a related field; law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred.
• Strong project management, organizational, and relationship management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, client service, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the Firm.
• Exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and survey/reporting tools, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below.

Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.

San Francisco, Palo Alto salary range: $80k to $112k

Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego salary range: $76k to $106k
