Controller / Senior Accountant

Position Overview

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Controller for a rapidly growing and well-established consumer packaged goods manufacturer based in Seattle, WA. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity working onsite 4–5 days per week. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Controller to lead financial operations across multiple established CPG brands.

In this pivotal role, you will support strategic collaboration with plant operations, oversee all accounting functions, and ensure GAAP compliance in a dynamic, multi-brand manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will have a key opportunity to impact the financial health and operational efficiency of a thriving company in the food production space.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting
• Oversee and improve inventory accounting, billing, collections, and cash flow forecasting
• Manage tax compliance, audits, and treasury functions across multiple business units
• Maintain ERP financial modules and ensure data integrity
• Collaborate with operations and senior leadership to drive strategic financial insights
• Supervise and mentor a growing accounting team with hands-on leadership

Required Qualifications

• CPA required
• 7–10 years of accounting experience with demonstrated success in both tactical and strategic roles
• 5+ years of proven success in accounting roles within consumer packaged goods (CPG)
• Deep understanding of GAAP for manufacturing and financial reporting best practices
• Expert-level skills in Excel (Pivot Tables, Formulas, Data Tables, Advanced Lookups)
• Direct experience managing sales tax, income tax, and ensuring full compliance with state and federal reporting requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, energize, and command presence
