Senior Associate Attorney - Probate & Civil Litigation

We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team. This position is ideal for an attorney with a strong litigation background who enjoys courtroom advocacy, client interaction, and managing cases from inception through resolution.

While experience in probate, estate planning, or probate litigation is a plus, it is not required. We are willing to train the right attorney who brings solid litigation experience, strong legal judgment, and a desire to grow in a specialized practice area.

What You'll Do

• Manage a litigation caseload involving probate disputes, fiduciary disputes, estate-related litigation, and other civil matters
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, and contested proceedings
• Draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies
• Take and defend depositions
• Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, mediations, and trial
• Negotiate settlements and assist clients in resolving disputes efficiently
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide exceptional client service
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to achieve successful outcomes

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience with a preference for litigation
• Demonstrated courtroom experience, including hearings, depositions, mediations, and contested matters
• Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in civil litigation, family law litigation, probate litigation, commercial litigation, or fiduciary disputes
• Experience serving as first or second chair in trial
• Experience arguing contested motions and evidentiary hearings
• Familiarity with Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Rules of Evidence
