$75.00–$100.00 gross per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

A successful entrepreneur in Austin, Texas is seeking an exceptional Private Chef to join his household for a temporary assignment with the potential to extend. This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished culinary professional who has extensive private chef experience and a passion for nutrition-focused cuisine.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the client’s registered dietitian to execute customized meal plans with precision and consistency. Every meal must be accurately weighed, portioned, documented, and prepared according to detailed nutritional guidelines while maintaining exceptional flavor, presentation, and quality.

This role is ideal for a highly organized, self-motivated professional who enjoys working independently, takes pride in culinary excellence, and thrives in a private household environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the client’s registered dietitian to execute customized meal plans and nutritional protocols.
• Develop weekly menus with flexibility for minor adjustments as needed.
• Prepare fresh breakfasts, lunches, and dinners up to three days in advance.
• Prepare and serve plated lunches approximately two to three days per week, typically around 2:00 PM.
• Accurately weigh, portion, and label all meals according to nutritional specifications.
• Document meal weights, ingredients, and nutritional information and provide detailed records to the client via email.
• Shop for groceries and source fresh, premium-quality ingredients.
• Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
• Manage pantry inventory, food rotation, and kitchen supplies.
• Properly package, label, and store prepared meals.
• Coordinate professionally with the client’s Household Assistant when appropriate.
• Work independently while maintaining excellent communication and anticipating the client’s needs.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will

• Have extensive experience working as a Private Chef in private households.
• Have experience preparing meals based on detailed nutritional protocols and collaborating with registered dietitians, nutritionists, physicians, or wellness professionals.
• Possess exceptional culinary skills with the ability to consistently prepare healthy, restaurant-quality cuisine.
• Have a thorough understanding of nutrition, portion control, food quality, and ingredient sourcing.
• Be meticulous with weighing, portioning, recipe consistency, and documentation.
• Be highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing all aspects of the kitchen independently.
• Be flexible, adaptable, and solutions-oriented.
• Maintain the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of professional Private Chef experience preferred.
• Culinary degree or formal culinary training strongly preferred; equivalent high-level professional experience will also be considered.
• Previous experience working with specialized nutrition plans, performance nutrition, dietary restrictions, or medically directed meal programs is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of food safety, nutrition, and kitchen management.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required.
• Ability to grocery shop and transport food and kitchen supplies.

Household Environment

The client works remotely from his home in Austin. The environment is relaxed, professional, and collaborative. A Household Assistant is also employed and assists with household organization and errands.

The home includes two dogs. Candidates should be comfortable working in a home with dogs.

Compensation and Benefits

• $75.00–$100.00 gross per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Approximately 18 guaranteed hours per week.
• $650 monthly Health and Wellness Stipend.
• Mileage reimbursement for work-related driving.
• One paid week off for every five weeks worked, with the ability to accumulate paid time off by mutual agreement.
• Paid federal holidays.
• Additional paid time off whenever the client travels, which occurs frequently.
• Flexible paid sick and personal time with open communication.

The client prefers to conduct an in-home interview so candidates can see the kitchen and work environment.

Additional Information

This position is anticipated to last approximately 90 days; however, there is a strong possibility the assignment could continue beyond the initial term based on the client’s evolving needs.
