Elementary English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher – Part-Time or Full-Time Available

École Jean-Jacques Rousseau is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Elementary English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our English Department for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a contractual position with the possibility of renewal at the end of the school year.

Full-time hours are available through a combined teaching and administrative role, providing an excellent opportunity for educators who wish to expand their professional experience while contributing to the daily operations of the school.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will

• Have experience teaching children beginning at the preschool or elementary level.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (teaching certification preferred).
• Be passionate about fostering students' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to continuous growth.
• Share our school's mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
• Experience in a French school setting is an asset but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging English Language Arts lessons aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
• Teach reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and oral language.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students.
• Assess student progress and use assessment data to guide instruction.
• Foster a positive, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and school administration.
• Collaborate with faculty and participate in school events and professional development.
• For candidates seeking full-time employment, additional hours are available through administrative responsibilities, including admissions support, school communications, student supervision, and other operational projects.

Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
