Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions

The Crew Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, supervising crew members, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and according to company quality standards. This role serves as the primary field leader and liaison between project management and field crews.

Applicants must currently lead a crew to be considered for this position. We are seeking cohesive, experienced crews who are ready to transition together and grow with our company. Please let us know if you have the ability to bring an established 3-person crew with you.

The principal duties are to manage and lead field installation crews for Gulf Coast Pavers projects. In order to perform these principal duties, the following must be properly fulfilled:

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of field crews on paver and retaining wall projects.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and blueprints to execute work accurately.
• Plan daily work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.
• Ensure projects are completed according to plans, specifications, company standards, and safety regulations.
• Maintain job site safety and enforce OSHA and company safety policies at all times.
• Monitor quality control to ensure installations meet Gulf Coast Pavers’ high standards.
• Coordinate material deliveries and equipment needs to prevent project delays.
• Communicate daily progress, challenges, and updates to Operational leadership.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members to improve skill levels and productivity.
• Identify and address field issues proactively to maintain project timelines and profitability.
• Assist with layout, grading, base preparation, paver installation, cutting, and retaining wall construction as needed.
• Track labor hours and job progress accurately and submit required daily reports and documentation.
• Assist with change order documentation and communicate field changes promptly.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working condition.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented culture on job sites.

General Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the Hardscape, Landscape, or Construction Industry required.
• 2+ years of experience leading crews or serving in a supervisory role preferred.
• Experience with paver systems and retaining wall installation strongly preferred.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage field teams.
• In-depth knowledge of paver installation, base prep, grading, and retaining wall systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and meet project deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Bilingual abilities (Spanish or other languages) are a plus but not required.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check.
