Compliance Officer

Our client, A Boston, Massachusetts based SEC registered investment adviser, is looking to hire a Compliance Officer.

Role Description

The Compliance Officer is responsible for establishing, maintaining and enforcing the applicable compliance and supervisory control systems of the organization’s SEC registered investment adviser and its SEC registered broker-dealer subsidiary.

The Compliance Officer shall be a member of the organization’s legal and compliance effort and shall be responsible to periodically test and verify all aspects of the organization’s compliance policies and supervisory procedures and ensure that such procedures are reasonably designed to achieve compliance with applicable federal securities laws, regulations and applicable FINRA and state rules.

The Compliance Officer shall report directly to the CEO of the organization’s registered investment adviser and the CEO of the organization’s registered broker-dealer.

The responsibilities of the Compliance Officer shall include, but not be limited to,

• Maintain and update compliance manuals and procedures;
• Periodically testing all compliance aspects of supervisory architecture of the organization;
• Engaging third parties for cybersecurity, data privacy and disaster recovery testing;
• Ensure AML procedures are followed and oversee annual testing of such procedures;
• Review and approve client reporting and correspondence;
• Document organizational oversight meetings;
• Conduct annual organizational regulatory risk assessment;
• Conduct periodic books and records testing and prepare related documentation;
• Conduct annual review and testing pursuant to 206(4)-7 of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, as amended, and prepare related documentation;
• Conduct Rule 3110, 3120 & 3130 annual testing and complete a certification report;
• Conduct annual and periodic reviews of SEC Form ADV and draft necessary updates;
• Confirm timely filing of FOCUS and SSOI regulatory filings;
• Respond to regulatory inquiries and examination request;
• Coordinate and conduct periodic continuing education and staff training; and
• Support the General Counsel in any other areas of organizational oversight and training.

The Compliance Officer is expected to maintain the confidentiality of all client and firm proprietary information.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree. Minimum of five (5) years work experience in (i) compliance; (ii) legal; (iii) consulting (at a “Big Four” affiliated consulting firm or similar type of organization); (iv) accounting; or (v) finance within the investment advisory or brokerage business.
• Must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel and Powerpoint. The candidate should have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate should have a multi-tasking ability to complete projects within tight time constraints and adapt quickly as needs change.
• FINRA License Requirements (either current or following employment with the organization): FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
