Legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal

This is a great opportunity to join a busy litigation team and to work on complex toxic tort lawsuits on behalf of the great working class and their families.

Our firm is looking for a litigation assistant to manage our front office daily and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.

As an assistant, you will be the first point of contact for our firm. Your duties will include offering administrative support across the organization. You will also coordinate front-office activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
• Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
• Manage inventory of office supplies and orders
• Keep updated records of office expenses and costs
• Perform clerical receptionist duties, including but not limited to filing, photocopying, transcribing, faxing, and assisting other team members
• Act as a liaison with building/landlord
• Update calendars and schedule meetings
• Arrange travel and accommodations, and prepare vouchers

Additional Tasks may include

• Drafting correspondence, pleadings, and discovery (requests and responses)
• Filing documents electronically
• Ensuring effective service of documents (electronic and hard copies)
• Submitting and following up on requests for medical records, Social Security records, and personnel records
• Composing summaries of records
• Maintaining and managing case deadlines
• Performing electronic research
• Proofreading documents

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

• AT LEAST one (1) year of litigation experience in a law firm or similar legal environment
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Pleasant and professional demeanor
• Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the office team, as well as with outside co-counsel

Compensation and hours will be commensurate with the experience and skills of the successful candidate.
