Software Engineer - iOS/Android - Full-time

This specific opportunity is for a Software Engineer - iOS/Android position within PNC's Digital Security & Authentication organization. The role is based in multiple locations including Pittsburgh, PA; Denver, CO; Strongsville, OH; Birmingham, AL; or Dallas, TX. The position is designed for a skilled Full Stack Java Developer with experience in both backend and mobile development.

Candidates should possess expertise in building scalable web applications and mobile solutions targeting iOS and/or Android platforms. This multifaceted role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and modern web technologies such as Angular, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.

The role requires deep collaboration with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, UX designers, QA specialists, and DevOps engineers. Software Engineers will engage in the full software development lifecycle, from conceptual design through production deployment and ongoing support.

Tasks extend into mobile application development for iOS (using Swift/Objective-C) and Android (using Kotlin/Java), integrating mobile apps with secure authentication methods and APIs, and optimizing for performance and user experience.

Additional responsibilities include participating in CI/CD pipeline development, automated testing, code reviews, and employing best practices to enhance software security and reliability in a cloud-native, containerized environment.

The position offers a base salary range of $60,000 to $150,000, with variability based on location, skills, and experience, and includes incentives tied to company and individual performance.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development
• At least 3 years of experience developing Java enterprise applications
• Proficiency with Java 11 or Java 17 and above
• Experience in Spring Boot framework
• Skilled in REST API development
• Knowledge of microservices architecture
• Familiarity with SQL databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL
• Experience with Git source control
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue
• Experience developing mobile apps for iOS and/or Android platforms
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
