Project Architect II (Development)

Job Description

BKV Group seeks a Project Architect II to join our growing Development team.

Our ideal candidate has 10-15 years of well-rounded architectural experience (5–8+ years as a licensed architect), with strong skills in design and documentation for related Development project types (e.g. Affordable or Market-rate Multi-family, Student or Senior Living and/or Mixed-use). We are looking for someone passionate about creating great design with experience preparing project documentation including functional and spatial requirements, design, specifications, materials, color, and equipment selection.

Working closely with Project Managers and Senior Project Architects, this role translates design direction into conceptual, schematic, and design development packages, produces construction documents, and supports construction administration through project completion.

Work with the Project Manager or Senior Project Architect to determine the functional and spatial requirements of new structures or renovations.

Assist the PM or SPA in planning the layout of projects including determination of functional and spatial requirements and assist in preparing information regarding design, specifications, materials, color and equipment.

Coordinate with engineering team members to assist the PM or SPA with the integration of engineering systems into a unified design for client review and approval.

Prepare project plans (scaled drawings) utilizing Revit.

Support construction administration staff during building construction to help monitor compliance with project plans.

Receive project direction from the Senior Project Architect and/or Project Manager.

Qualifications

Four years college or university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Professional license required.

10-15 years of total architectural experience; 5 to 8+ years related experience as a licensed professional.

Ability to communicate effectively and work efficiently with team members.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the PM and SPA.

Proficient in Revit, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation range

$95,000 – $110,000 annually, or commensurate with experience.
