Role Description The 9–12 English Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Duncanville, TX. The teacher will plan, deliver, and assess rigorous English language arts instruction aligned with district curriculum and state standards for high school students.

Daily responsibilities include designing and implementing lesson plans, facilitating reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities, and using a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to support diverse learners. The teacher will monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues.

Additional duties include participating in professional learning, collaborating on campus and district initiatives, supporting extracurricular or enrichment activities as appropriate, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture.

Qualifications

• Strong instructional skills in secondary English language arts, including literature analysis, composition, vocabulary development, and grammar.
• Ability to design standards-based lesson plans, assessments, and learning activities that support critical thinking, creativity, and communication.
• Skill in using instructional technologies, learning management systems, and digital resources to enhance student engagement and learning.
• Classroom management and student support skills that promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
• Capacity to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including students with varying language abilities and learning needs.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth, data-informed instructional practices, and alignment with district core beliefs and goals.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; valid Texas teaching certification in Secondary English/Language Arts (or eligibility to obtain).
• Prior experience teaching high school English or working with adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.
