The General Manager is responsible for the overall business performance, commercial success, operational governance and service quality of The Community.
This role acts as the main bridge between ownership / asset management and the on-site team. The General Manager ensures that the business reaches its occupancy, revenue and profitability targets while protecting the brand, resident experience and operational standards.
The General Manager leads the on-site team, supervises outsourced providers through contracts and SLAs, manages key accounts and strategic partnerships, and ensures clear reporting, financial discipline and decision-making.
The ideal General Manager is commercially strong, operationally structured and deeply service-oriented. They must be able to speak the language of ownership, revenue and financial performance, while also understanding the human and operational reality of running a coliving and coworking space.
This person should be a confident leader, strong communicator, decision-maker and hands-on manager capable of building the business from launch to stabilised operations.
Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in hospitality, coliving, coworking, serviced apartments, flexible living, flexible workspace, residential operations or another customer-facing service business, including experience coordinating teams, operations or commercial performance.
The role is suitable for a junior-advanced manager or an experienced Assistant Manager, Operations Manager, ResidenceManager or Deputy Manager ready to progress into their first General Manager position.
Experience managing a P&L, budgets, forecasts and performance reporting.
Experience leading small multidisciplinary teams.
Strong commercial experience, including sales strategy, partnerships and revenue growth.
Experience managing outsourced providers, contracts and service standards.
Strong understanding of customer experience and service quality.
Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in a pre-opening or start-up environment.
Desirable:
Experience in Dubai / UAE.Experience in coliving, coworking or community-led hospitality.
Experience launching a new hospitality, residential or flexible workspace asset.
Experience working with owners, asset managers or real estate developers.
Understanding of expat, remote worker, entrepreneur and founder audiences.
