Junior BMS / ELV Engineer

Job Purpose

The Junior BMS/ELV Engineer supports the design, coordination, and implementation of Building Management System (BMS) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems for data centre projects.

Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the role assists in the preparation of engineering designs, technical calculations, drawings, specifications, and coordination activities in accordance with company standards, project requirements, international codes, and local regulations.

This position provides structured training and hands-on project experience to develop technical expertise in mission-critical building systems and digital infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and coordination of BMS and ELV systems for mission-critical data centre projects.
• Support the preparation of concept, schematic, detailed design, tender and construction documentation for BMS and ELV systems.
• Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, single-line diagrams, schematics, riser diagrams and equipment schedules using Auto
• CAD and Revit.
• Assist in developing BMS control philosophies, control schematics, points schedules and network architecture under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines to ensure proper integration of BMS and ELV systems.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and assist in resolving design clashes using BIM coordination tools.
• Assist in reviewing consultant drawings, vendor submittals and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements.
• Support the preparation of equipment schedules, cable schedules, I/O lists, bill of quantities and technical reports.
• Assist in incorporating design revisions, review comments and client requirements into project documentation.
• Maintain project documentation, engineering calculations and design records in accordance with company quality procedures.
• Ensure assigned work complies with applicable international standards, local authority requirements and company engineering procedures.
• Participate in technical training and continuous professional development to enhance engineering knowledge and software proficiency.
• Stay informed of emerging technologies, smart building solutions, digital engineering tools and industry best practices relevant to BMS and ELV systems.
• Demonstrate a proactive attitude, attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering work within project schedules.
• Comply with company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Senior BMS/ELV Engineer, Design Manager or Design Director.
• Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.0–1 year of experience in BMS, ELV or Building Services Engineering is preferred but not required.
• Internship, university projects or academic exposure to building systems or smart building technologies will be considered an advantage.
• Basic understanding of BMS and ELV engineering principles and design practices.
• Familiarity with engineering design processes and multidisciplinary coordination.
