📝 Rquirements

• We need someone with 3-5 years of experience that meaningfully spans SRE, DevOps, production, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong AWS expertise is essential; you should have practical experience running production workloads on AWS and be able to discuss your work in detail.
• You should be a product-minded thinker who considers why the product matters and what should be built, not just how the infrastructure operates.
• You must be able to contribute to feature work with agentic tooling when needed and not treat infrastructure as an isolated boundary.
• You should be self-directed and able to ramp quickly in an unfamiliar codebase, cloud account, or toolchain.
• You should have genuine curiosity about ABA, our product, and AI, with interest in learning the clinical domain we support.
• You need recent, verifiable professional references and honesty about your background.
• You should be comfortable working with CI/CD, Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code, MongoDB or another production database, and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Sentry, or Grafana.
• You need enough fluency in Node and TypeScript to handle reliability work such as scripts, migrations, instrumentation, job lifecycle management, deploy tooling, and end-to-end or integration tests.
• You should be comfortable using the command line, production logs, and cloud consoles, with real incident experience you can discuss.
• You must be careful with production access, customer data, and tenant boundaries, and understand the difference between a useful diagnostic and a data leak.
• You should be comfortable on a small team where process is still evolving and everyone stays close to the product.
• Healthcare or other HIPAA-regulated experience is a plus.
• Multi-tenant SaaS experience, especially tenant isolation, support tooling, or data repair, is a plus.
• Experience with disaster recovery, SLOs, incident command, or introducing SRE, DevOps, or QA practices on a small team is a plus.
• Familiarity with our stack, including AWS ECS, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, SNS, MongoDB Atlas, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Node, TypeScript, Playwright, Sentry, ClickUp, React, React Native, Express, pnpm, or Turborepo, is a plus.

👩‍💻👨‍💻 Your responsibilities are

• Own daily production reliability across AWS and MongoDB Atlas.
• Triage alerts, respond to incidents, and handle root-cause analysis and incident communication.
• Convert retrospectives into runbooks and better alerting.
• Close HIPAA-conscious observability gaps, including PHI-safe logging, auditability, access controls, and incident evidence.
• Operate and improve GitHub Actions deployment pipelines for backend, web, and native apps.
• Maintain Terraform infrastructure, review infrastructure pull requests, and strengthen CI signal quality.
• Coordinate mobile releases through TestFlight and Google Play.
• Improve rollback, restore, and break-glass procedures.
• Write and repair reliability-focused code in TypeScript and Node, including scripts, migrations, indexing, instrumentation, tenant-scoped tooling, background job lifecycle work, deploy tooling, and tests.
• Support product feature work when needed, especially when agentic tooling can help move work forward.
• Validate release candidates and test core clinical workflows on web, iOS, and Android.
• Run test suites such as Playwright, Jest, and Postman, and manage release checklists and post-release verification.
• Serve as the first internal contact for customer-reported issues, reproduce and isolate problems, document findings, prioritize by clinical impact, and close the loop with customers.

Acquire Learning is a learning management platform built for ABA therapy, used daily by clinicians and behavior technicians supporting clients on the autism spectrum. We are a small, product-focused team working in a HIPAA-regulated environment, and our platform reliability directly affects clinical sessions and the communities we serve.

This is our first dedicated Site Reliability Engineer role, a mid-level position with a clear path toward Lead SRE as we grow. You will work closely with our Lead Engineer, CEO, and CTO, helping us build the SRE function, shape incident and release practices, and strengthen the operational foundation of our product.

We are based in Denver, Colorado, prefer local candidates, and the role is in office to start: fully onsite for the first 90 days, with hybrid flexibility later based on demonstrated ownership. We offer a base salary of $90,000-$105,000, semi-annual performance reviews with raise potential, healthcare, PTO, and additional benefits.
