University Information Services (UIS) provides enterprise technology services and application platforms to the University of Colorado’s four campuses and the Office of the President. UIS is committed to excellence in customer service, technical expertise, and the development of enterprise applications responsible for supporting CU’s students, faculty, human resources employees, finance employees, and others.
The Principal Cloud Application Engineer is a senior technical role responsible for the design, development, and governance of enterprise cloud-based integration and messaging solutions within distributed computing environments.
This position provides technical expertise across integration initiatives, translating complex business and system requirements into scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions that enable reliable data exchange among enterprise and campus applications.
The role leads the planning and implementation of enterprise integration frameworks, event-driven and messaging solutions, and automated software delivery practices, ensuring adherence to established standards for security, performance, reliability, and operational readiness.
The Principal Cloud Application Engineer collaborates closely with campus stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership to guide solution design, establish integration standards, and support modernization efforts
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Integrations and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified Staff system.
Where You Will Work
Applicants must be Colorado residents or able to relocate to Colorado within a month of starting employment with University of Colorado System Administration.
This role is eligible to work remotely within Colorado.
Please note, leadership may adjust in-office work requirements with a minimum of three months' notice before any change can be implemented.
