Conversa Corps helps other NGOs, nonprofits, and governmental relief teams work together better, using a completely virtual online interaction. Using group chat and trained Facilitators to help team representatives connect, chat, share, and collaborate, CCorps provides the "real time" interaction between hundreds of teams from all sectors of humanitarian assistance or disaster response.

The interaction between the teams grows over time, and with that, relationships and trust begin to build. When a crisis hits, the teams are already familiar with working together in virtual spaces, and can bring response faster.

Multi-team collaboration aims to optimize the interaction, knowledge sharing, and collaborative efforts of relief and response organization participants, including

• Facilitators coach best practices and effective behaviors to help the crowd to interact more effectively
• Guided, continuous facilitation of conversation and knowledge sharing in group chat
• Encourage teams to begin planning out how they can work together better for the next crisis
• Sustaining a high level of shared situation awareness and context by sharing live information and use tools that provide situational awareness alongside chat.

• Slack, AirTable, Facebook, (WhatsApps, Signal as needed), we're about the behaviors and people, flexible on the tools.

Collaboration services provide setup and management of appropriate online, digital tools for conversation and information sharing between responding organizations using various publicly available collaboration technologies like Slack. Conversa Corps will also research and document the best practices and sociocultural lessons learned associated with large multi-team collaboration and share this research publicly.

Conversa Corps is designated as a public benefit corporation. We enable robust, effective, and timely rescue, humanitarian aid, and comfort to those suffering or in danger due to a crisis such as an environmental or humanitarian disaster.

Web Designer (Volunteer Opportunity)

Introduction

Conversa Corps is launching CollabOps (Collaborative Operations) Academy to professionalize crisis coordination across the humanitarian sector—and we’re looking for a skilled Web Designer to help bring this vision to life online. This role will shape the digital experience of our learning platform, ensuring it is intuitive, accessible, and engaging for aid workers operating in high-stakes environments.

As part of the founding team, you’ll design and build user-centered web experiences that support collaboration, learning, and trust across organizations. Role Summary

The Volunteer Web Designer plays a key role in supporting Conversa Corps Inc.’s humanitarian and disaster relief mission by designing, maintaining, and enhancing the organization’s digital presence. This role is responsible for creating a visually engaging, user-friendly, and accessible website that effectively communicates Conversa Corps’ mission, programs, and impact.

The ideal volunteer is creative, detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about using design skills to support meaningful, mission-driven work.

Key Responsibilities

Website Design & Development

• • Design, develop, and maintain a responsive, visually appealing, and user-friendly website.
• Ensure website design aligns with Conversa Corps Inc.’s brand guidelines and mission.
• Optimize site performance, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.

Content Management

• • Regularly update and maintain website content to reflect current programs, events, and initiatives.
• Collaborate with content creators and communications staff to ensure content accuracy and clarity.
• Optimize website content for user experience and search engine visibility (SEO).

Graphic & Visual Design

• • Create engaging graphics, images, and multimedia elements to enhance website visuals.
• Support the design of digital promotional materials for campaigns, fundraising efforts, and events.
• Ensure visual consistency across website and digital platforms.

User Experience (UX) Design

• • Conduct basic user research or usability reviews to understand audience needs.
• Apply UX best practices to improve navigation, accessibility, and overall user experience.
• Recommend improvements based on user feedback and analytics.

Collaboration & Communication

• • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, communications, and IT.
• Gather requirements, provide design recommendations, and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.
• Communicate progress, timelines, and design needs clearly and professionally.

Time Commitment

We need someone with your skills and passion for a minimum of 6 hours a week, preferably 10 hours for 6 months.

Required

Qualifications

• • Proven experience in web design with a portfolio demonstrating previous work.
• Proficiency with web design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, or similar platforms.
• Experience with content management systems such as WordPress, Elementor, and basic web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
• Understanding of UX/UI principles and accessibility best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Reliable, organized, and responsive with attention to detail.
• Passion for and commitment to the mission and values of Conversa Corps Inc.
• Prior experience working with nonprofit organizations is preferred but not required
