English Second Language Lead Teacher

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic English Second Language (ESL) Lead Teacher to inspire and guide students in developing their English language skills. This role is vital in creating an engaging, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that fosters language acquisition, cultural understanding, and confidence among diverse learners.

The ESL Lead Teacher will oversee curriculum implementation, mentor teaching staff in the implementation of ESL strategies, and collaborate closely with families and community partners to ensure student success. Duties

• Implement comprehensive ESL curricula tailored to various age groups, including preschool and early childhood learners.
• Lead classroom instruction with enthusiasm, utilizing interactive lessons that promote literacy education, speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
• Mentor and support teaching staff by providing guidance on classroom management, behavior management, and child development instruction techniques.
• Collaborate with special education teams to adapt lessons for children with diverse learning needs, including early intervention strategies.
• Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities through regular updates and meetings.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
• Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor student growth in language proficiency and overall development.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in educational settings, particularly in early childhood education or preschool environments.
• Strong background in curriculum development, literacy education, and classroom management techniques.
• Knowledge of special education principles, early intervention practices, and behavior management strategies.
• Familiarity with child development instruction, childcare standards, and preschool teaching methodologies such as Montessori or other progressive approaches.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in early childhood education or ESL teaching are preferred.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds; bilingual abilities are a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate physical education elements when appropriate; experience tutoring or teaching standardized testing is advantageous.
