Duties

• Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
• Lead daily classroom activities that promote social-emotional skills, behavior management, and active learning experiences tailored to toddlers and preschool-aged children.
• Foster a nurturing environment that supports early intervention strategies and accommodates children with special educational needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior expectations, and transitions to create a structured yet flexible learning space.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies while maintaining a safe environment through first aid and CPR certification.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum enhancements, participate in staff meetings, and contribute to ongoing professional development initiatives.

Experience

• Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management and behavior management skills.
• Background in early childhood education or related fields such as Montessori or special education is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical activity, and childhood development principles.
• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures for early learners and experience in tutoring or individualized instruction is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws, child welfare practices, and health & safety protocols including first aid and CPR certification.
• Experience working with diverse learners—including those requiring early intervention or special accommodations—will be considered an asset.
